The Revolution Continues

Hello readers! Should I bother apologizing for dropping off the face of the blogosphere or are you guys pretty much used to this by now? I wish I had some sort of cool excuse, like I was busy saving disabled orphans or something, but no, I just haven't felt like posting. The blogging malaise strikes again!

Last Thursday I got it in my head that I would return...and then I didn't. That night the Gerg made a cameo in my dreams, informing me that he was a regular reader, and referring to AC360 Review as a 'complainer blog.' Actually, he might have said 'complainer-y,' which would have been even more awesome. Either way...ha! Still less weird than when I dreamed Ali Velshi was a cult leader...

Anyway! As for the 360 kids' coverage, your humble 'complainer' doesn't really have anything major to say. The show's been doing a great job keeping up with the ongoing turmoil in the Middle East. I do, however, need to hand out a WTF demerit for tonight's booking of the discredited Paul Wolfowitz. Yes, let's totally listen to advice from one of the guys behind the Iraq bungle. I mean, seriously?

The only other little issue I have involves Fouad Ajami and really isn't even a criticism. I actually like him a lot as a guest, but he reminds me of Billy Nungesser. Not in a literal sense, of course. I'm referring to how he's become the go-to guest for this story. As I noted at the time, the show's relationship with Nungesser eventually led to slanted coverage of the BP oil spill. It appears they're having on more voices for this current story, so hopefully any slanting will be avoided. Still. Anderson Cooper is clearly enamored. Something to think about.

What a few weeks it's been, huh? A part of me is watching the coverage and thinking, what an amazing time for the world. People rising up; dictators falling. This is awesome. But the other part of me is watching the coverage and thinking, what a terrible time for the world. People murdered in the streets; fear/uncertainty abounding. This is horrific. And basically both parts of me are right. It's an astounding time to be a newsjunkie. I may not be blogging it all, but I'm most certainly following.

I'll return again when the urge strikes me (or I start to feel overly guilty). Sorry I didn't give you much this go-around. Pretty much I just wanted to check in...and apparently tell you about my hilariously weird David Gergen dream. You're welcome!

Interlude Part II

Hi everyone. Okay. Yeah. I've been neglecting my little corner of the interwebs. I didn't expect to be gone this long. My excuse? I was kinda sick, and then I was kinda busy, and then I was fully busy, and then I was sad and busy, and then I was back to kinda sick. And that's pretty much exactly what happened. Right now I'm just taking it easy, hoping to slay this kinda-sickness before it becomes full-blown sickness. I definitely do not want Santa bringing me pneumonia for Christmas.

Anyhoo, so that's the story of your absentee blogger. I've been trying to watch 360 every night, but haven't always been successful. I did, however, see Anderson Cooper demolish that birther. Good times. You can usually catch me on the Twitter around showtime (or whenever). I'll try to be back to blogging next week.

I shall leave you with Gary Tuchman's report on Warren Jeffs. Our intrepid correspondent has been on the polygamist's case for literally years, and I think I've probably watched it all. Interlude

Hi everyone. Your blogger is not feeling well, and therefore the bullet points are seriously doubting their ability to be awesome. With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, I think I'm going to join a good portion of the masses (including, it seems, Anderson Cooper) and go on a bit of a break. That's not to say I definitely won't be reviewing Tuesday or Wednesday's show, but right now it's looking that way.

As for tonight, though I always mourn the absence of the Silver Fox, I have to admit, I love me some Sanjay Gupta. He's getting really good at the guest anchoring thing. I know he has his own show, but I don't think it's quite the same animal. Anyway, tonight's show wasn't bad--no keyboard smash this time around. If you want my thoughts on the next two days, you can probably catch me on the Twitter around show time. Chat me up! Also, in case I don't make a post beforehand, be sure to watch CNN Heroes Thanksgiving night. I have my issues with the network, but have always respected their efforts to air this heartwarming show.

Hi everyone. I've recently had a bit of extra work on my plate, so I'm taking a blogging break. I think I picked a good time. These last two shows? Meh. The Pat Tillman segment was great, and Anderson Cooper appears to still be rocking the honesty-keeping in the form of challenging guests (I say "appears" because I've done some channel surfing). But they're going too sensational for my tastes again. Kicking off the broadcast with the Michelle Obama non controversy? Really, 360?

Anyway. I don't have a day in mind for returning to blogging. Maybe tomorrow night; maybe not until next week. Check back, and as always, I'm rocking the Twitter. For now, I shall leave you with a treat involving our anchor. CNN isn't always the greatest with getting videos up on their site, so I sometimes find myself searching the YouTube to bring you fine folks content. As you might imagine, searching the Silver Fox's name can result in some, uh, interesting results. Every once in a while I come across something that's, well, one of a kind. The video below is both weird and hilarious--one perhaps more than the other. This is your career, Anderson Cooper! (Keep watching, trust me.) And you thought bloggers had a lot of time on their hands...
