Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Hi everyone. Just wanted to wish my celebrating readers a happy day with good food and good company. As per tradition here at AC360 Review, I give you the requisite posting of "The Thanksgiving Song."

Also, I've discovered that the actual Adam Sandler video can be viewed here, apparently the only place The Man has not yet found.

For those of you that make it through your turkey dinner without falling into a Tryptophan-induced coma, I encourage you to watch "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute." Hosted by Anderson Cooper, the program airs at 9pmET and is sure to be inspiring. Normally this is the part where I point out how much I respect CNN for taking on these kind of specials even though they don't bring in a lot of ratings. But I said that about "Planet in Peril" and now, well, have you heard anything about that lately? Yeah, me neither. So this is just me encouraging you to watch. Have a good one, people. I'll try to do another post this weekend. See you on the flip side.

Is it just me or do you think they have gone all Hollywood with this CNN Heroes? That is my opinion of it last year. The first year's show I liked. As for PIP, or anything 'journalistic' from Mr Cooper, well those days seem to be gone buhbye don't they.
Forgive the crappy cynicism, but I remember how good the show used to be. I also remember how good Anderson used to be when he did things and went places. When he was not stuck to a desk, nor the subject of tireless stupid speculation in the tabloids and every other blog gossip site.
Judging from the few dozen viewers that seem to be left watching him, I am not alone?
Hope you do not mind the anon, but as no one uses a real name around these Anderson related places anyhow, what's the difference? It is just as well for me to call myself anon as make up some over-the-top name like 'certain other Anderson sites' always have with their posters.

They have gone Hollywood, but I don't see anything particularly wrong with it as long as the focus remains on the actual heroes. Look, celebrities get eyeballs--that's just a simple fact. Plus it has to be thrilling for so-called regular people to be honored by movie stars and the like.

I'm not sure you can blame Anderson for this year's lack of PIP. It's not like it was his baby or anything (it was actually pitched to CNN by Jeff Corwin). If I had to guess, I'd say CNN made the decision to save money and focus more on domestic news--especially given how poorly they're doing in prime time.

I do agree that the show is in a rut, and I'm not sure anyone could deny that there's been a lack of energy for the past year that often causes the broadcast to be boring.

I don't necessarily mind the anon, though it does make it hard to determine if I have one person commenting or several. Plus I like to know if I actually know you from somewhere else. ;)

Eliza, I just wish someone would get their act together, their head out of the sand, the clouds, where ever. This whole lineup sucks and has for a long time, but when morons are in complete denial like Klein, no one will try anything to save any shows. Frankly, I think Lou Dobbs is lucky to be gone from there. The combination of Campbell, Larry and Anderson is not working. A two year old can see that. Campbell Brown's slot never seems to work no matter who is there. Larry has gone to pot(perhaps literally). Mr Cooper does not give a crap about anything but holiday fun in the sun. His star has faded and he is not their golden ticket anymore. You think for those big bucks he gets, he could attempt to look interested in doing something once in a blue moon. Is it any wonder no one is left watching? If he does not care, why should anyone else waste time doing so either?
That might sound harsh, so be it. I, like a lot of others are done waiting for Anderson Cooper to 'show up'. What do we get now?
Well, I believe I saw another comment that said Andybot? Well said.
CNN certainly decided to save money, for Mr Cooper does not even care enough to go to New Orleans anymore, let alone half way across the world. Isn't Jeff Corwin on some cooking network or show now? Whatever. I guess it all boils down to- I am outta here. I have given up waiting for a show I recognize or enjoy to ever return. Or for credible news to either.Or its anchor/host either for that matter.
Rant finished now.
Sorry. Thank you for your time.

Well, I don't know Anderson in any way, shape, or form, so I don't think it would be fair for me to make an assumption about what he does not care about. A lot of factors go into putting on a broadcast; many of them unknown to the viewer. That's not a defense of Anderson, exactly--I'm just not ready to throw all of the problems onto one person (though I do share your dislike of how Klein is running things).
