News You Might Have Missed
Hi everyone. Welcome to my weekly attempt to bring you the news you might have missed--though admittedly, an abbreviated version. It's been one of those weekends. I didn't do a review for Thursday's show because, well, it was only 15 minutes long! Shortest 360 ever. The "Heroes" special was pretty nifty though. When it first started I thought, "aw, it's like the Oscars." And then it went 45 minutes over and I thought, "wow, it's really like the Oscars." It took me a while to figure out why they made poor Christiane Amanpour stay outside. But then I realized she was playing the role of the post-Oscar speech "Entertainment Tonight" interviewer--except, you know, likeable. Too bad the ratings sucked, but it was a nice thing to do. Anyway, on to your news:
    - FEMA officials aren't the only ones who like fake press conferences. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice had an aide plant a question with a friendly journalist in order to direct attention from her less than stellar stint as National Security Adviser.
- Will the next battle be with addiction? Counselors and therapists charge that the military is overmedicating troops.
- We couldn't just give him the Presidential Medal of Freedom? Iraq war architect Paul Wolfowitz is back...and he's overseeing classified intelligence on WMD issues. (to be filed under, WTF?!!)
- Homeland insecure and up for sale. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington have released a report illustrating how the Department of Homeland Security have wasted and mismanaged billions over the last five years. Watch this short five minute video for more.
- Thank you Christian Right! Teen births are on the rise again after they had been falling for the past 14 years. Good to see that abstinence-only sex-education working.

The Pig farmer story in Canada was big news and so was the story of the British couple who defrauded the insurance company.
